Hello! I am Qin Qian.<\/strong>
Originally from Guangxi, China, I have called the vibrant city of Philadelphia home for over 20 years. The Erhu\u2014a millennium-old instrument often called the “Chinese violin”\u2014is more than just my career; it is my soulmate for connecting with the world and expressing the deepest emotions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Musical Exploration Beyond Borders<\/strong>
My professional journey has been a series of cross-cultural discoveries. I am honored to collaborate with world-class musicians, blending the soulful, singing voice of the Erhu into genres like Jazz, Pop, and Classical music. On every stage, I strive to redefine the charm of the Erhu for modern audiences, breathing new life into this ancient tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Growth Through Teaching and Learning<\/strong>
As a music educator, I have been honored with multiple “Outstanding Teacher Awards.” However, my greatest sense of achievement comes from my students. Connecting Across Generations: My students range from 5-year-old children to 95-year-old seniors. In teaching them, I have gained endless wisdom and inspiration from their diverse life experiences. Witnessing Success: Watching my students grow from absolute beginners to performers on prestigious stages like Carnegie Hall is the fuel that keeps me moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My Heartfelt Wish<\/strong>
Music is a lifelong journey of the soul. I often say: “Live and learn; with music in your heart, you will never grow old!” My most beautiful wish is that when I reach the age of 95, I will still be holding my Erhu, standing on stage, and performing for you.
